Packing a Weekender Like a Pro: 3 Days in 38 Litres

The difference between people who check luggage for a weekend and people who breeze past the carousel is not discipline — it's a system. With a 38-litre weekender like our Voyager, three days fits comfortably if you pack in layers with a purpose for each zone of the bag.

Start with the shoe garage. Shoes are the heaviest, dirtiest item you carry, so they go in the ventilated end compartment, soles facing outward, socks stuffed inside them. This anchors the bag's weight at one end, which matters when you shoulder it.

Clothes go in the main compartment, rolled, not folded. Rolling prevents hard creases and lets you see everything at once. Lay trousers and jackets flat across the top as a final layer — they act as a wrinkle-guard for everything underneath. Compression straps then cinch the load so nothing shifts in the overhead bin.

Toiletries and electronics live in opposite end pockets: liquids in the waterproof-lined pocket where they can't leak onto silk, chargers and cables in the quick-access pocket you can reach mid-flight. Documents and passport go in the flat security pocket against your body side.
